WHO WILL YOU SEE ON THE REPUBLICAN TICKET IN 2012
While the Iowa Republican debates were in full swing, Rick Perry was in South Carolina announcing his run for president at the Republican Convention.
I watched as he declared his candidacy and while I do not agree with some of the most important things he stands for, I do agree with many of his stated policies and accomplishments. His address was quite compelling.
He is currently serving as the Governor of Texas and is in his third term. It is reported that Texas has created 40% of all new jobs created within the entire United States under the Governors leadership and many other effective state laws and programs have been initiated and passed.
He comes from a poor family, describing his youth as working in the cotton and wheat fields with his father and wearing clothes hand made by his mother until he went to college.
And yet by the end of his address he sometimes appears to be delivering a sermon rather than a political speech.

So why all the hoop-la about the Iowa Straw Poll? It is just that. As you all have more than likely seen the results, Bachmann received 4823 votes (28.5%), but less than 200 votes ahead of Ron Paul who received 4, 671 (27.65%). All others candidates received less than 3000 votes. This poll will have little to do with the actual candidate that the RNC will appoint.
I believe that Rick Perry is the RNCs’ choice of this moment and will be on the Republican ticket for President of the United States in 2012.
