After a good nights sleep, I awoke at o6:30 this morning. Thought it was a little early and decided to have a some coffee, watch the news and see if I really wanted to start my day.
Yes, I had some things I needed to get done and it was going to be near 60 degrees today. Nice after having nearly a month of cold frigid weather, including 5 nighs in sub zero.
New is that even Mumbari has stepped down, the square in Egypt is still filled with protesters, and had increased since I last heard. They want more change now. Hmmm, well there are demonstrations in Wisconsin today as well. The Governor has decided that Wisconsin should joing over twenty other states who do not recognize union groups. This would apparently affect schools and every other government employee. The Governor contends it is either that or raise taxes. Of course those employees are demonstrating, the tea party, republicans and other folks are demonstrating support. The Wisconsin congressmen left the state and headed to Illinois to avoid voting on the governors bill. I suppose they will talk about it all day as "Breaking News", wonder how many times a story can be a"Breaking News" event.
Ok, so now I am awake. I cleaned up the kitchen from last nights snaks, put the clean dishes away and loaded the dishwasher. Outlined the months' budget and paid the bills. Looked through the fridge and cabinets and made out my shopping list.
Went to WalMart in Mt.Zion and did my shopping. I picked up new food for the Squirrels and birds. I havn't fed them since the weather got cold. But it is reported that the temperature will get up to around sixty today and I've heard the birds chirping. I think one is starting to build a nest in my gutter:(
Only had some bread I baked last night with my homemade blackberry jam so I was starving after going to Walmart, and after putting my purchases away, had a glazed donut and more coffee. When I got home the mail had come and I was pleased to find that I had a package from Joe. I wanted to open it slowly and enjoy, so I ate the donut first.
Joe had sent a very beautiful necklace and bracelet. A few years ago I told everyone to skip any Christmas Gifts unless they made it themselves. Joe is an avid beader of jewelry. The necklace and bracelet match and consit of pearls and some type of natural pearlized stone. The necklace clasp is one that is made of two gold leaves, adn the bracelet has a little dangle of a gold message "made with love". It hangs at closure. They are both very beautiful! The card enclosed is a print of Barbara Levilles work. I love both:) Thank you Joe.
I then decided to take the squirrel and bird feed out and put the feeders back up, and was sorely surprised to see that mice had gotten into a small bag of grass seed that I had in the shed and it was scattered all over the shelf and floor with about a 10% mixture of mouse feces. So had to drag everything out of the shed and clean it up, hosing off all the tools, etc. Hoping not to be exposed to the Hunta Virus found from some mouse droppings, swept the grass seed and feces out of the shed. Tony, my neighbor came out and we had a long conversation about his campaign for the Park Service Board and our yards. He has heard that driving a copper nail in a tree kills it, so I need to look that up for confirmation and if it's true maybe I can rid my fence line of the multiple mulberry trees.
Finished that job, had some warmed over pizza and thought I would take a nap before starting to paint some jelly jars I intend to decorate and recycle. That was sbout 4 o'clock. Woke up at 7:30 to find Rosie O'Donnell tracing her roots back to Ireland. It's a new program. I think the name is "Who Are You" or something to that effect. That was followed by Datelines story "Unbecoming Conduct"...They were both interesting. Crochet awhile on an afghan I've been working on they took a look outside. The Moon is Full and shining brightly through the bare trees across the stree.
An now I am here at my computer, starting anew blog for future reference, since I'm having a very difficult time with "My Story" trying to remember more from the late eighties.
