Doggone, after 2 wrong number calls during the night nad not getting back to sleep as quickly as I would have liked left the house this morning to drive down to Vandalia to my cousins visitatio and memorial service. Would have like to be there by nine am, but started late having had only one cup of coffee and no breakfast. The roads were clear and dry....after snowing the day before sort of expected some icy pavement.
The service was lovely, a celebration of life the minister called it. And it was, as around 65 to 75 people gathered to remember "Tootie", Georgia Pauline Donaldson Beccue. They were mostly relatives and former co-workers. Conversations were light and happy as most of us had not seen some of us for as many as fifty years. I was so delighted to see four of my first cousins from my fathers side, Danny Donaldson, Donna Belle Christman, Marvin Heather and Marilyn Calvert. And many second cousins and a few third cousins, great and great great nieces and nephews. Tooties Daughters remembered their mother with lovely words to all.
When the services were over I made a visit to Lisa and we had a good visit. She made me a pot of coffe and I started home. I was pretty zonked by that time and HUNGRY. Got home about 2:30 had blueberry waffles and ham....and slept until 7 pm.
